At 6:30 PM server time on Sunday, February 7th, watch for clues from GM_MorningBell. The first 5 players to find her (based on the clues) and open a trade win a prize!

High Score Extravaganza! (February 6-7, 2010)

Like playing mini-games? Then join in the High Score Extravaganza! In this event you'll work your booty off for recognition that you're the best in a mini-game!

You have 24 hours to play some mini-games and post you're high score here, but be careful! Once you've posted a score you won't be able to change it! There are 5 mini-games you can compete in, however you can only submit 3 scores (of 3 different games) so choose the games you're best at!

Event Ends: February 7 @ 8pm server time

Screenshot Contest (February 6, 2010)

At 5 PM server time on Saturday February 5th, a list of places in game will be listed in this thread. Players will have one hour to post screenshots with all the item/places listed in this thread.

All correct submissions will be entered into a raffle for a red cap AND level 8 farm!

Please note: your in game character and the item listed must be visible in all screenshots.

Febuary Supplies (January 30, 2010)

Oh no! February is almost here!

GMPirate is in need of supplies to make sure Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year get off to a great start this year.

Bring 15 Cat's-Eye Stone to GMPirate at either 7pm or 11pm server time (Eastern Time) on Saturday, January 30th in the Florapolis Chatting Room. You can send her a msg if you need a teleport.

Everybody who brings 15 Cat's-Eye Stone will be entered in a raffle for a festive outfit!

There is also a bonus! If you bring the mysterious Purlynx's Treasure item to GMPirate, it will count as an additional entry in the raffle for you!

'Winners: BlueBella and Catty3D are the lucky winners of the festive outfits.

Alphabet Soup (January 28, 2010)

For example: If the letter is B

Person A posts a screenshot of herself standing next to Bagel Person B cannot use Bagel, so he posts a screenshot standing next to the baguette the Food Merchant is holding Person C cannot use Bagel or baguette, so she posts a screenshot of herself buying Energy Biscuit from the Pet Supply Merchant etc.

The Rules: One screenshot per person, please. However if you post something and discover that somebody has posted it before you, you can post another thing to qualify for the raffle. Make sure the screenshot shows the game time. Player names that start with the letter do not count.

This goes on until 10 minutes have passed without anybody posting in the thread, whereupon it is locked and everybody who entered a valid screenshot gets put in a raffle for a purple shirt.

Anagram Scramble (January 21, 2010)

GMPirate is ravenously hungry! Help bring her food and she'll reward you with one of her favorite beverages- black tea! In addition, one lucky winner (selected by lottery) will win a fancy black and red shirt.

The names of the food here are scrambled so you must unscramble them and bring the foods in-game. Please do not post the answers here- let everybody figure out the puzzle

Food For Friends 2 (January 21-31, 2010)

On January 21st-January 30th, Cinnamoroll will appear in-game in the HKO city of London. He will be collecting 25 different types of food items. Each type of item has a donation value, in points. The point values of the items change every day according to the previous day’s contributions. For example: If a lot of people donate sandwiches one day, sandwiches will be worth fewer donation points the following day.

The total donation points accumulated by players in HKO North America, Singapore, and Malaysia will be used to calculate a real-world donation to Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres) for aid efforts to the Haiti earthquake victims. This donation is sponsored by Sanrio Digital (the developer and owner of HKO), Aeria Games (publisher of HKO North America), Burda:ic GmbH (publisher of HKO Europe) and Oriented Games (publisher of HKO Malaysia & Singapore).

At the end of the event, all participants in Food for Friends 2 will be rewarded with a sum of Loyalty Points based on the total donation value of the items contributed by that participant. Additionally, the three Guilds with the highest donation scores will win massive amounts of Loyalty Points.

Monster Hunt (January 20, 2010)

86 kinds of monsters are located all over Sanrio Land and your beast knowledge will be tested in this cool new challenge.

On Wednesday, January 20th at 8 PM server time (Eastern Time) Serena will be editing this thread with Photoshopped pictures of monsters from Sanrio Land.

You will have to figure out who they are, where they are, and get over there ASAP!

Once you find the monster(s), you will need to collect a little souvenir as proof that you found them (# of each will be listed under each screenshot). When you have collected something from all the monsters, run over to the London Chatting Room and trade the items to Serena.

The first 15 people to trade all the correct items will win 20 Bone Milk Cookies and be entered into a raffle for a Punch Bunny pet card!

Guess the Map (January 19, 2010)

To guess the maps, send a Forum Message to GMPirate (using the green button on the right, under her forum avatar) with your list of guesses as to which maps are pictured.

You will have 1 hour to guess the maps pictured.

Everybody who gets all 5 maps right will be entered in a drawing for a red Hello Kitty cap.

NPC Haiku (January 14, 2010)

The contest is simple! Compose and post a haiku here in this thread before the deadline, January 15th at 9PM server time (Eastern Time)! The rules for haiku are not too strict, for this contest it's just that there have to be 3 lines of 5, 7, then 5 syllables. The reference to seasons, use of kireji, etc. are not necessary.

... the catch is, the lines of the haiku have to be said by NPCs in the game!. Compose your haiku by taking screenshots of NPC dialogue boxes in the game and taking phrases from them.

Ugly Sweater Return (December 26, 2009)

It's Boxing Day! Time to bag up those ugly clothes you received and take them back in!

Meet GMPirate in the Florapolis Chatting Room with the following items to return:

Help GMPirate cook a Holiday Dinner (December 25, 2009)

GMPirate needs materials to cook the stuffing for her holiday feast! Bring the ingredients and trade them to GMPirate in the Florapolis Chatting Room at 8:30pm server time (Eastern Standard Time).

Materials needed:

5x Sage
10x Grain
1x Baguette
1x Butter
3x White Bread

All participants who trade the materials to GMPirate will receive 5 holiday tree seeds and 5 fig seeds, items that are not available in the game. The tree seeds are planted on your farm to grow a lit-up holiday tree!

All players who turn in the materials will also be entered into a drawing to win one of 6 wreaths and 6 Santa Clocks.

Price is Right (December 24, 2009)

At 11 pm server time head to the Florapolis Chatting Room for a game of the Price is Right!

This is similar to the popular TV show, except players will be guessing the correct sell price of an item Rikki will shout out.

The first person to PM Rikki the closest sell price of the item (without going over) will have a choice of 20 Candy Cane Shards or 10 Onion Soup. Those who tie with the first person will get a consolation prize of 5 Candy Cane Shards or 5 Fruit Pie.

All participants will be entered into a raffle! 1 Grand Prize winner will receive a Snowman Costume, while 4 others will receive a Pile of Gifts (a furniture item)!

Holiday Capers Main Event (December 23, 2009)

Santa’s work was going smoothly and Mr. Jinch was having fun with all his pranks, but suddenly there was an unexpected turn of events in Hello Kitty Online!

Humbug, Mr. Jinch’s pet Beetil, has decided to cause some trouble of his own. The little bug has taken over the holidays by running across all the cities and stealing gifts and treats from everyone – including Santa and Mr. Jinch! These goodies were meant to be given to all adventurers, so go take them back to save the Holidays!

Where are they?
Humbug played around with Mr. Jinch’s secret stash of magic dust, and used it to steal Giant Gift Boxes, which are hidden and scattered in different maps. There’s only one way to make the Giant Gift Boxes reappear: gather together at the right time and place!

All players who send in the correct answers to GMPirate in a forum private msg (click the green button under my picture on the left!) in 30 minutes will be entered for a holiday items raffle! 1 guess per person, please! You won't receive an individual response as to whether you got it right or not, but the correct answers will be posted when the event is done.

Rhyme Time (December 20, 2009)

Players must then run out and find as many things that rhyme with the Clue Word that can be traded to GMPirate as possible!

To enter items, open a trade with the GM and put your items in the trade window. Hit accept when you are done, and the GM will close the trade (so you will not lose your items.)

For example:
If the clue word is "tree" you can bring the GM a pinbee frill for "pinbee" or a pat of butter from the food merchant for "ghee."

Don't be afraid to be creative, but make sure to send GMPirate a private msg after trading the items with an explanation.

Player with the most items judged valid will win a Santa clock for his/her house wall!

Elves Needed (December 18, 2009)

Unfortunately, some of Santa's elves have gone missing in action. They were gathering some supplies around Sanrioland and got lost in a snowstorm. Until we can locate them, Santa has to make due without them. But without his elves, the big guy is in real trouble with Christmas coming. It's up to you guys help out!

But first, Santa is real particular about his helpers. You've got to be able to keep up with the holiday cheer and because of that, he has a few requirements that you'll need to meet.

Event will also be announced in-game.

GM Find (December 9, 2009)

Come play this player-designed event at 6PM server time!

GMPirate will announce a clue in-game about an item that she wishes you to bring and trade to her. There will also be a clue as to her location. The first 5 players to find her and trade her the correct item in each location will win 30 Flora Stew, a tasty and filling pet food!

HKO Holiday Toy Drive! (December 3, 2009)

Come join Hello Kitty Online North America as we collaborate to play HKO for charity! Players will have two weeks (until December 16th, 2009) to gather in game items that will translate into toy donations to Toys for Tots!

Here’s how it works:

We’ll be collecting sets of materials for your GM team to make into holiday toys for needy children, one set consists of:

Short Sticks (x10)
Webley Webs (x5)
Shell (x5)
Bramble’s Comfort (x10)

Players who trade one set or more of items will receive a Crab Plush Toy for their efforts (all items must be traded at the same time), for each set a contribution will also be made to Toys for Tots.

Come out for a tournament of rock paper scissors!!! Everyone is welcome :].

When: Thursday December 3rd at 9pm server time (6 pst) Location: Sanrio Harbour, at the wooden platform next to TuxedoSam's House (right of the pond/lake)

How it works: Everyone who wants to play will message me when i ask at 9pm est. I will record all the names down and randomly call out 2 names at a time. Both players will come up to the platform. If someone is away and doesn't go up, I will call out another name.

Guess Who (December 3, 2009)

Come join GMPirate at 6 pm server time on December 3rd, 2009 in Pinkuru's house (Florapolis) for the group participation game of Guess Who!

Not dissimilar to the game by Hasbro, the player gets 5 Yes/No questions to ask the GM to narrow down who the GM is thinking of in the room.

After all 5 questions have been asked, the player must guess. If the player is correct, he wins. If the player is incorrect, the person the GM was thinking of wins the prize.

Each round will also have a random prize given out to a participant in the group.

Meet in-game in the London Farm Market with the following DIY supplies and open a trade with GMPirate. Every 4th trade will be accepted and you will win a (hand-me) down blue jacket!

The items you need to trade GMPirate are:

1 pair of starter shorts (make your own clothes!)
3 sandwiches (bring lunch to work!)

Thanksgiving Marathon (November 26, 2009)

After a good tuck-in, we felt like having a nice leisurely^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H frantic dash around town!

Race begins in the Sunbright Express at 9PM server time (EST) in Sanrio Harbour and ends in the London Chatting Room.

All players who get to the London Chatting Room within 4 minutes will win the prize! Female avatars will get the Green Fancy Dress, male avatars will get the Dress Shirt with Green Sweater.

Thanksgiving Feast (November 26, 2009)

We’d like to prepare a delicious Thanksgiving meal. In order to do so, we need your cooking expertise! All players who post in this thread with a screenshot with the following items in your inventory, will receive 10 cocoa beans (a farm seed not available in-game) for their efforts.

Please post your screenshot with the following in your inventory:

10 Mysterious Leaves (for spices)
10 White Bread (for stuffing)
10 Mulberry (for pie)
10 Sage (more spices)

Also, as an added bonus, those of you who can meet GMPirate at 2 PM server time on Thanksgiving in Florapolis and open a trade, every 3rd trade will receive 10 pumpkin seeds (a farm seed not available in-game)! A total of 26 players will receive this prize!

I need a break! Join me for High Tea, an early evening meal!

The event will take place Friday, November 13th at 8pm server time. Meet GMPirate in the London chatting room with 15 Tea with Honey and 20 Mulberry Jam Cookies.

I will accept every 3rd trade. If I reject your trade, you may keep trying as many times as you like! The first 30 successful trades to me will receive a very piratey set of silk pants and wooden sandals. Arr.

Fashion Show (November 12, 2009)

Come to our first Game Sage event, a fashion show!

Show off your fashion sense at the HKO Fashion Show. Everyone will line up and will be called one by one to walk down the runway (the wooden platform) and show off your cutest outfit. At the end of the runway you can do an emote and say something cute about HKO or Hello Kitty.

GM Toss (October 30, 2009)

If you were on at 5:30pm server time, you had the chance to play GM Toss with GMPirate.

GMPirate said: "This is how the event works: I will click to 'Follow' the person whose turn it is. That person is going to try to 'throw' me into a doorway without going into the room him or herself! This is done by walking, then veering away from the doorway at the last second. People who successfully throw me will win 10 Birthday Tokens."

The event prize was changed from 10 Tokens to 50 later on, and 10 Tokens was the consolation prize.

Hello Kitty's Birthday Party! (October 29, 2009)

Come join us for Hello Kitty's birthday party in London!

Hello Kitty's birthday is November 1st, and in her honor your GMs are hosting a birthday party in her hometown, London!

On November 1st come to London at 7 PM server time (4 PM PDT). GMPirate will be there waiting for everyone to join! Wear your favorite Hello Kitty items!

The birthday party will include a fun scavenger hunt game, and a giant birthday pinata, which will take everyone's help to explode! It drops extra-special rare items too!

We hope to see you there for the fun. Come and with Hello Kitty a happy birthday in style!!

Note: Everyone can join Hello Kitty's birthday party! However, after the event ends (and the giant pinata has been pulverized) we will take a log of all players who are wearing four or more birthday items (four or more items that are equipped that have been purchased with birthday tokens, or won from pinatas). All players who meet this requirement will receive a special item in the item delivery tab next week! Please make sure your account is linked properly to receive your gift!

Trick or Treat! (October 26, 2009)

It’s getting close to the spookiest holiday of the year! We’re going to celebrate Halloween HKO style!

Here’s how it works: We’re going to trick or treat! In preparation for the fun event, you can help us gather materials and earn a exclusive costume in return!

We’ll need a selection of food items, some thread, and some gathered items to work on sewing up some neat costumes and putting together some great treats!

By 3:00 PM server time(12PM PDT) on October 29 have screenshots posted to this thread of the following items in your inventory:

In return, you will receive a Halloween costume to wear trick or treating. Please specify the Pumpkin costume or the Skeleton costume.

On October 30 we will trick-or-treat! (We know it’s a bit early, but we want you to enjoy IRL trick-or-treating too!) At 8:30 PM server time(5:30 PDT), walk around the maps in and near Florapolis.

If you find a GM dressed in a Halloween costume and open a trade, you will get a treat! But beware, every 13th trade will receive a trick! Players dressed in a Halloween costume (from the previous days’ event, or created by themselves) will be rewarded for their extra effort!

Scientific Research (Beginner's Event) (October 22, 2009)

In preparation for a visit from a scientific research team from Antarctica, we need your help! Sanrio Harbour will be visited by a team of elite scientists who wish to sample the wildlife of Sanrio Harbour on 10/30/09.

We ask that our ever-so-helpful Hello Kitty Online players bring GM_MorningBell the following materials for the research team to sample:

15 Mysterious Leaves - the researchers want to know what makes them so mysterious
20 Snapper's Treasure - the often under-appreciated Snapper deserves its turn in the spotlight
30 Rare Clover - the researchers are keen on finding out if these are the same as the ever-so-lucky four leaf clover

Here's how the handoff will work: Meet GM_MorningBell on 10/30/09 at 8 PM server time (5 PM PDT) on the docks of Sanrio Harbour near Nyoko, with your materials in hand. The GM will accept every FIFTH trade. 25 players will win 20 Birthday Tokens for their assistance with this important research!

Open Beta Events! (October 22, 2009)

Hello Kitty's 35th Anniversary Celebration!

Come join us in HKO for Hello Kitty's Birthday Celebration! We well be having quite a few in-game events leading up to November 1st, Helly Kitty's Birthday!

The party will take place in London, Hello Kitty's home town. 35th Anniversary apparel items are recommended to help contribute to the party atmosphere. They include hats, wands, tops, shoes, and necklaces. 35th Anniversary Apparel Items can be purchased with Birthday Tokens from the Party Master NPC or won from pinatas.
