Guardian Bunbun is one of the three guardians you can choose from the A Friend In Me quest.

These cute and loyal companions will follow you around Dream Carnival and act as your guides. Other players will not be able to see your guardian and once you leave to Sanrio Harbour, your Guardian will disappear.

You can have your own Bunbun Card outside of Dream Carnival by purchasing one in the Item Mall.
